Halton Hills’ hamlets each have a unique identity shaped by their history, landscapes, streetscapes, and built form. A proposed Hamlet Character Preservation Structure would help ensure future planning and infrastructure decisions respect what makes these communities distinct.

Halton Hills councillors debated two Official Plan amendments related to the Georgetown GO Station and Mill Street Corridor, with mayoral candidates Jason Brass and Ann Lawlor clashing over the planning process. Council approved the Protected Major Transit Station Area amendment but referred the Mill Street Corridor Secondary Plan back to staff for review by the next council.

Halton Hills Council has backed a two-dome concept for the Eighth Line park expansion after Councillor Jason Brass moved to include the expanded plan in a federal funding request. The proposal would create additional year-round space for local sports while pursuing outside funding to help reduce the cost to taxpayers.
